Russian Batmobile Gets Impounded

A Batmobile replica in Moscow was impounded recently after police caught the vehicle driving with no licence plate and illegal dimensions. According to local media, it stands six metres long and four metres wide.

"The car is not registered by any public organization, has no legal certificate and is not authorized to drive on the road," the police said in a statement. "The officers measured the car and found that it exceeded the legal standards."

The driver, 32, faces several fines for violating traffic laws, driving an illegal vehicle and not registering the vehicle. Once the fines are paid, he will be allowed to get his car back from the impound lot.

Sources say the fake Batmobile was built in the U.S. and modified in Russia. It is estimated to be worth 55 million Russian ruble, or approximately $1.1 million CAD.
