Chevy Silverado Realtree is Back and Ready for the Wild

Following the success of the 2016 Chevrolet Silverado Realtree Edition five years ago, General Motors decided to bring this special edition back for the 2021 model year.

The unveiling took place at the 2020 SHOT Show in Las Vegas this week.

Developed in collaboration with Realtree, a company that specializes in camo equipment and clothing for hunting and fishing enthusiasts, this outdoor-ready pickup will be available in a limited number of units, all based on the Silverado 1500 Custom Trail Boss.

That means you get a two-inch factory suspension lift and the Silverado’s Z71 Off-Road Package which includes monotube Rancho shocks, Hill Descent Control, automatic locking rear differential, skid plates and an AutoTrac two-speed transfer case.

The Realtree Edition adds several camo graphics most notably on the hood, bed panels and interior door panels. No wild animal will ever mistake the truck for a bunch of trees, but you get the idea.

Other distinctive features include 20-inch black wheels with Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires, black Silverado and Z71 badging, black rectangular dual exhaust tips, four-inch black round assist steps and all-weather floorliners. Meanwhile, the high-strength, roll-formed steel bed floor will be perfect to haul your gear and game.

The 2021 Chevrolet Silverado Realtree Edition will go on sale this summer with a standard 5.3-litre V8 engine that produces 355 horsepower via a six-speed automatic transmission. GM’s 6.2-litre V8 rated at 420 horsepower is optional along with a 10-speed box. Pricing has yet to be announced.
