GM Recalls Camaros
Chevy’s Camaro is one extremely lust-worthy vehicle. But as much as we’d all like to be parking a Bumblebee of our own in the driveway, sadly, the hot commodity is also something of a rarity above the 49th parallel. With just a few early examples getting out to dealerships in time for summer, Chevy’s ponycar’s celebrity status is paying off.
At least it was, until cars started dying. Shortly after leaving the lot, too many Camaros weren’t obliging the owner’s key twists, which led to a very quick investigations. As it turns out, an under-insulated wiring loom runs too close to the starter motor, and during heat cycling, the wiring’s insulation can melt away, allowing the wiring to short out on the starter motor casing.
Thankfully, with such a small amount of vehicles being available, only a few customers’ Camaro experience was impinged upon, while the rest will be altered before even leaving the dealership lot.
