2018 Jaguar XJR575 Added to the Line-up

The XJ full-size luxury sedan may be starting to get old, but that isn’t preventing Jaguar from adding more power under its long and sleek hood. For the 2018 model year, the XJR575 is introduced with—you guessed it—575 horsepower, along with 517 pound-feet of torque, compliments of its supercharged, 5.0-litre V8 engine.

The XJR575 is only available in rear-wheel-drive, long-wheelbase format, and replaces both the XJR and XJR LWB that were offered in 2017, and which boasted 550 hp. With the help of an eight-speed automatic transmission, the new car is able to blast from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 300 km/h, according to the manufacturer.

Unique interior design touches as well as two exclusive paint colours will distinguish the 2018 Jaguar XJR575 from the other versions of the sedan, which include the XJ R-Sport, the XJ Portfolio and the XJL Portfolio. All three are powered by a supercharged, 3.0-litre V6 that develops 340 hp, connected to an all-wheel drivetrain.

All versions of the XJ now receive the Jaguar InControl Touch Pro infotainment system, which includes a 10-inch touchscreen and 4G Wi-Fi hotspot (subscription required). A 1300-watt, 26-speaker Meridian sound system is available as well, as is the usual slew of advanced safety driving aids, notably emergency braking, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring and a surround camera system.

The 2018 Jaguar XJ will be sale in November 2017. Pricing ranges from $93,500 for the XJ R-Sport, before freight and delivery charges, to $126,500 for the XJR575.
