Ken Block Adds a Pair of Turbos to tts 1965 Ford Mustang

When Ken Block unveiled its Hoonicorn—a 1965 Ford Mustang heavily modified with a 410-cubic-inch V8 and an all-wheel drive system developed by Sadev—purists were outraged by the vehicle. Performance enthusiasts on the other hand were entranced by this car. However, nobody thought that the 845 horsepower were too weak to propel the Mustang.

Nobody, except M. Block.

This is why he commissioned version 2.0 of the Hoonicorn, adding a pair of turbochargers and methanol to the mix.

Unveiled in a Live video on Facebook (which explains the quality of the above images…), Ken Block showcased some of the modifications on its Mustang. The first thing that pops up is the paint job: depending on the lightning, the stickers lights up. The hood also bears the colours of the American flag.

Most of the changes occur under said hood (or sticks through it…), as a pair of huge turbochargers is now fitted to the V8. Since Hoonigan Industries couldn’t use intercoolers, they opted to convert the engine to methanol. The end result is 1400 horsepower.

That should be enough.

We will see the car in the next Gymkhana, and a teaser video will come out next week.
