Six Drive Modes for the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor

With the arrival of more sophisticated electronic management systems in cars, new ways of modifying the driving experience are cropping up. With drive modes, users can change various settings in the car, like suspension firmness, steering assist, throttle response and transmission shift points.

The 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor will feature lots of new tech: it will herald the newest iteration of the twin-turbo, 3.5-litre EcoBoost V6 and feature the first 10-speed automatic gearbox in the automotive industry. We now know that the truck will also boast a slew of drive modes.

The first one—which will be the one mostly used—is the Normal mode. Then comes Sport mode, which will improve throttle response and let the motor spin at higher revs before shifting. Weather mode will help find traction on snow or ice-covered roads, ideal for our winter season. Mud/Sand will come in handy for going through rough off-road sections, Baja will limit the intervention of the traction control for high-speed desert runs and Rock Crawl will engage 4-Low while deactivating every single electronic aid.
