Alpine's Return: Here is the Vision Concept

Ever heard about Alpine? This division of Renault – and therefore Nissan – got its credentials by modifying Renaults for racing. They eventually went on building their own cars, including the well-known A110, a lightweight sports car with a mid-mounted engine.

Renault wanted to revive this legend. After more than 20 years, Alpine is coming back from the dead, and the first car to wear its badge will be the Vision Concept you see in the above pictures.

According to the press release, the production Alpine will be pretty similar to this concept: mid-engine, lightweight – around 1,100 kilos – and similar lines.

We don’t know exactly what will propel the Alpine, but we can safely bet on a Renault engine being used. This means that it could have up to 300 horsepower, which would be enough for it to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in as little as 4.5 seconds.

So the Alpine will obviously not be sold here, but we can dare to dream… after all, wouldn't this be a perfect rival to the Alfa Romeo 4C?
