Chevrolet Renews Its Car Lineup For The Montreal Auto Show

The 2016 model year is a busy one for the GM’s bowtie brand, and at the Montreal Auto Show, Chevrolet will be proudly showing off their vastly rejuvenated range of cars.

The 2016 Chevrolet Spark is positioned once again as the brand’s smallest car of the lineup. According to GM, it’s more refined, safer and more fuel efficient. Power will come from a 1.4L four-cylinder engine that develops 98 horsepower, up from the previous generation’s 84-hp output. The diminutive Spark will also include features such as forward collision alert, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring and a MyLink infotainment system with seven-inch touchscreen.

The 2016 Chevrolet Cruze is by far the brand’s best-selling car, and a total redesign brings new technology as well as uplevel features in order to compete with the compact-sedan crowd. A turbocharged 1.4L engine provides 153 horsepower, while safety features such as forward collision alert and lane departure warning will be offered as well. Heated front and rear seats in addition to a heated steering wheel will be available in uplevel trim levels.

The 2016 Chevrolet Malibu is the brand’s latest effort to rival midsize sedans such as the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry. It too is completely redesigned, and will offer multiple powertrain choices, including turbocharged 1.5L and 2.0L engines, good for 160 and 250 hp, respectively. A hybrid version returns this year, which combines a 1.8L engine and an electric motor for total output of 182 hp.

The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro gets a total redesign with a lighter and stiffer platform. A new-generation 3.6L V6 with 335 hp and a 455-hp, 6.2L V8 are on offer, while a new turbocharged, 2.0L four-cylinder engine is now available, producing 275 hp and making the new Camaro the most fuel-efficient in history. The sports car also boasts improved ride and handling with available Magnetic Ride Control and 1LE suspension setups.
