We Will See The New Mazda CX-9 In Los Angeles

The Mazda CX-9 is starting to show its age; while it has a front end that was refreshed in 2014, its overall shape isn’t exactly new. Even worse, its 3.7 litre V6 shares its origins with Ford’s venerable Duratec V6.

It’s now time for the full-size SUV to be modernized. And wouldn’t you know it, Mazda will do just that at the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show! To tease us, they sent us the above picture.

We can immediately see that the SUV has been designed using the KODO styling language (like every other vehicle in the Mazda lineup). In addition to its aerodynamic shape and its new front end, the CX-9 should arrive with a SKYACTIV powertrain; according to some rumours, we should find a 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder under the CX-9’s hood.

We will have to wait a few more days before the SUV’s unveiling; the Los Angeles Auto Show doesn’t start until November 20th, and media presentations start two days before that.
