2017 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe: We’re Driving it This Week

As the last few leaves are blowing off the naked trees, and Old Man Winter is getting ready to dump another harsh Canadian winter upon us, The Car Guide will be travelling to Spain in order to get a first crack at Mercedes-Benz’s redesigned compact coupe.

Compared to the sedan, the C-Class Coupe will get a sportier personality, thanks in part to distinct styling cues such as frameless doors, a higher beltline, a longer hood and a suspension lowered by 15 mm. This compact two-door bears a striking resemblance to the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe, but obviously on a smaller scale.

In the Costa Del Sol region of Spain, we’ll be driving two of four available variations of the 2017 C-Class Coupe. One of them is the C 300 4MATIC, which is equipped with a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder that develops 241 horsepower. The C 450 AMG Sport 4MATIC will deliver 362 hp from its twin-turbo 3.0L V6, followed by the Mercedes-AMG C 63 and the C 63 S. They are both motivated by a twin-turbo 4.0L V8; the first one gets 469 hp, and the second one gets 503 hp. We’ll also be driving the C 63 S on the track at the Ascari Race Resort.
