Subaru WRX STI S207: Subtlety Is For Losers

Just in case you were looking at the Subaru WRX STI and wondering why the manufacturer builds such a subtle and gracious-looking vehicle, the S207 was unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show.

So what’s different from the regular STI (apart from the very-obvious yellow paint)? It sports a new ECU, a different exhaust, a larger turbo, a Bilstein front strut bar, Brembo brakes and a few upgrades inside, like mats and doorsill plates. Since the S207 is based on the Japanese STI, it uses the BOXER 2-litre engine (and not the 2.5-litre found here). With the upgrades, it now develops an extra 20 horsepower and 28 pound-feet, for a grand total of 328 horsepower and 318 pound-feet of torque.

The exterior is fitted with a unique carbon fibre body kit and a huge spoiler. The wheels are from BBS and have a diameter of 19 inches.

Only 400 units will be built; the first 300 can be had in blue, black or white, while the last 100 will only be available in this… unique yellow.

Oh, and I have bad news for you: the Subaru WRX STI S207 will only be sold in Japan.

Sorry.
