2016 Dodge Challenger And Charger Go Plum Crazy

By popular demand, FCA will bring back its iconic Plum Crazy paint colour for the 2016 model-year Challenger and Charger, but only for a limited time.

The Plum Crazy Heritage Hue will be on display at the Dodge stand at the Woodward Dream Cruise this week in Michigan. “Powerful muscle cars painted in impactful colors make Woodward Dream Cruise the perfect setting for Dodge to debut the newest generation Challenger and Charger models in Plum Crazy,” said Tim Kuniskis, President and Chief Executive Officer – Dodge Brand and SRT Brand, FCA – North America.

Plum Crazy first appeared on Dodge muscle cars in 1970, and according to FCA, it remains one of the most desirable colours for their Challenger and Charger models.

It will be offered on every trim level of the 2016 Dodge Challenger except the base SXT, and including the SRT Hellcat. As for the 2016 Dodge Charger, every trim level can be ordered in Plum Crazy, including the SRT Hellcat as well as the SXT trim – as long as 20-inch wheels are specified.

FCA has also released production numbers for all the Charger and Challenger models since 2006 that were painted in limited-edition Heritage Hues. That palette of 21 colours notably includes Top Banana, Sublime, B5 Blue, Copperhead, Furious Fuchsia and Green with Envy.

Production for the 2016 models painted in Plum Crazy will start in November, and FCA will be taking orders only until the end of 2015.
