Mercedes-AMG's Smallest Vehicles Will Be Even Faster

AMG’s smallest vehicles, the CLA45 and GLA45 are already ridiculously fast; with 355 horsepower coming from a 2-litre four-cylinder, they can reach 100 km/h from a standstill in less than 5 seconds, which is impressive for such a small car.

For 2016, it seems that AMG’s mad scientists decided that this wasn’t enough. Not only do they offer the most powerful 2-litre on the market, they upped the ante:

  • Power goes up to 381 horsepower (!)
  • The seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox will receive different ratios for the 3rd through 7th gears to improve response and acceleration
  • A new mechanical locking differential (launched on the A45 in Europe) will also be featured in the CLA and GLA AMG

We will also see a few styling tweaks, but these haven’t been released yet.
