2015 Volkswagen Golf Recalled

Everything isn’t perfect in Golf land. While the small car is one of the most engaging to drive in its price range, it seems that it’s not impervious to recalls: a problem supposedly arose with the fuel pump that could lead to more damage.

On said pump, the nickel plating could disintegrate, which would cause accelerated wear. As of right now, no damage or accidents have been reported, but the manufacturer wants to make sure its vehicles won’t be damaged if they can help it.

The problem is supposedly caused by the part’s manufacturer, Bosch. According to a spokesperson, this isn’t the first problem with this particular part; the 2014 Ford Escape supposedly had the same problem a few months ago.

Owners of the 6,240 targeted vehicles (including the 2015 Golf, 2015 Golf GTI and 2015 Audi A3) will eventually receive a letter from their respective brands telling them to bring their vehicle in for service; for now, there aren't enough parts to satisfy demand.
