We Will Get The Chevrolet Spark EV Soon

Fuel prices might not be as high as they were a few months ago, but the temptation to find a vehicle that isn’t dependant on petrol is still high.

The electric car market is currently booming. There is of course the Tesla Model S and the Nissan Leaf, but another competitor is on the verge of joining the fray: Chevrolet will soon launch the Spark EV for regular consumers. We remind you that while the Spark EV was available here, it was only sold to commercial clients.

However, the 2016 Spark EV won’t feature the stylistic upgrades received by the gasoline-powered versions. This means that the new style unveiled in New York recently will not adorn the electric vehicle.

The Spark EV can be recharged from a DC plug or a regular 240V outlet. With its 18.4 kWh lithium batteries, the car has a range of 131 km, which confines it to large cities. However, with 327 pound-feet of torque, the diminutive car can get from 0 to 100 km/h in only 7.5 seconds.

GM will announce the official pricing for the 2016 Spark EV as soon as the car hits dealerships.
