The Stunning 2016 Chevrolet Malibu

Chevrolet was the first to present a new model at the New York Auto Show, and it was the stunning 2016 Malibu. This redesigned Malibu is 10 cm longer, 136 kg lighter, and features new powertrains.

Among the engines you will find a 160-hp 1.5-litre Ecotec turbocharged four with a six-speed automatic, and a 250-hp 2.0-litre four mated to an all-new eight-speed auto.

Perhaps bigger news is the new Malibu Hybrid, which uses an 80-cell, 1.5 kWh lithium-ion battery and a 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine, for a combined output of 182 horsepower. Early fuel economy claims put the hybrid at 47 mpg (U.S.) combined.

Among the new technologies available is a Teen Driver feature which will allow parents to monitor speed, distance travelled and other parameters, to keep an eye on their kids’ driving habits.

The 2016 Malibu is expected in dealers this fall, and the Malibu Hybrid will follow in the spring of 2016.
