Porsche Forces Aston Martin To Rename The Vantage GT3

Aston Martin is currently in a legal struggle with Porsche over the name of their Vantage GT3, which is a more track-focused version of the Vantage. As to why the vehicle was named the GT3, it’s because there is a racing version of the vehicle racing in the GT3 class all over the world, from the Circuit de la Sarthe to Daytona.
The legal feud comes from the fact that Porsche already builds a GT3; it’s an extreme version of the already fast 911. The manufacturer has been building their own GT3 for a few years now, and the name is normally associated with Stuttgart’s coupe.
To make sure they don’t end up in a costly legal battle, Aston Martin has decided to change the name of their car; from now on, it will be known as the GT12. This change means that the race car will also change its moniker to follow its road-going sibling.
Still, it’s not all bad; 12 is four times better than 3!
