RAM Rebel: A Ford Raptor Lookalike

RAM has wanted to build an off-road version of their 1500 trucks for a long time; they had the Power Wagon version of their HD vehicles, but still needed a ‘’small’’ truck that could go play in the mud.

This issue has been resolved with the arrival of the RAM Rebel. Featuring a one-inch lift courtesy of its air suspension, the vehicle has more ground clearance for off-road maneuvering. The lift also enabled the engineers to fit larger 33-inch tires for even more clearance. To make sure that sharp rocks don’t destroy the underside of the vehicle, the RAM Rebel comes standard with protective skid plates.

To make sure the trucks stand out, the Rebel has a two-tone paint job, larger fenders, LEDs in the headlights and a twin-snorkel hood. If you see the truck from the rear, you will immediately see the large RAM markings on the tailgate.

Inside, the cabin is all-black with red accents. The front seats are made of a textured vinyl that imitates the pattern of a tire thread. The seats’ headrests are also embroidered with the Rebel name.

You can choose to option your Rebel with either a Pentastar V6 or a 5.7-litre HEMI. If you choose the V6, a 3.92 differential ratio comes standard, to help the vehicle power through the mud.

Prices will be announced closer to its launch, which should happen in the second half of 2015.
