Galpin Auto Sport Will Celebrate Mustang's 50th Anniversary At SEMA

Here is another Ford Mustang to add to the already impressive roster scheduled to be shown at this year’s SEMA Show: The GAS Mustang, built by Galpin Auto Sports (the name may ring a bell: they were previously known as West Coast Customs, building the ‘’tasteful’’ vehicles seen on the Pimp My Ride show).

This pedigree may not inspire confidence, but if the teaser shot is any indication, it will actually look great: the bodywork is glossy black, and the car’s various accents are metallic gold, a color typically associated with 50th anniversaries. What a coincidence, this is exactly the Mustang’s age!

To make sure the car is able to get out of its own way, Galpin Auto Sports added a Whipple supercharger to the car’s standard 5 litre V8. For a little extra power, a complete Magnaflow exhaust replaced the stock setup. The result? A claimed 725 horsepower.

Ford also mentions that they will fill their SEMA booth with muscle cars: over 15 Mustangs will be there to awe the showgoers. Built by renowned builders like Petty’s Garage and Galpin, the cars promise to be amazing (and some of them will showcase the 2.3 litre Ecoboost's tuning opportunities).

Car Guide will be live from the SEMA Show on November 4th to try and sort out all these Mustangs, so watch our website for our coverage of this event!
