Chevrolet Tahoe & Suburban: Return Of The Z71

At the Texas State Fair, Chevrolet unveiled another option package for their Suburban and Tahoe full-size SUVs: the Z71 package. If this name rings a bell, it's because at one point it was the definitive off-road option group for the manufacturer.

It is much more sedate now: no more mudflaps, Rancho shocks or beefier differentials. In the Tahoe and Suburban, it includes off-road tires mounted on 18-inch wheels, a unique grille, chrome running boards, fog lights, a front-mounted tow ring and various Z71 stickers.

This new package is available for the LT and LTZ models. GM has yet to announce its pricing, but it will logically be a few thousand over the $57,245 of the Tahoe LT ($60,235 for the Suburban LT).
