The New Cadillac Will Be Called CT6
Cadillac is in the middle of some huge changes. After deciding to move their headquarters from Detroit, where they have been based since their founding in 1902 (their name actually comes from the founder of the city, Antoine Laumet de La Mothe, sieur de Cadillac and their logo is the sieur de Cadillac family crest), the American manufacturer also announced that their next full-size sedan, set to offer customers an alternative to the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Audi A8 and other BMW 7-Series, will be called the CT6.
It won't be the only model to feature this new nomenclature: in the next few years, their entire lineup will change names to help clarify their position. CT6 will be the flagship, while the XTS, CTS and ATS will also be assigned a number that will reflect their size. As for the brand's SUVs, they will also be renamed, albeit with a different set of letters and numbers.
These changes should start as soon as the CT6 goes on sale, which is supposed to happen before the end of 2015.
