Your Mirror's New Worst Nightmare: 2015 Dodge Charger Pursuit

Opinions are split on the Dodge Charger's new nose: some like its new modern look, while others don't like the radical changes from the 2014 model. But those new headlights have a positive side-effect: with the new Charger Pursuit, it will be easier than ever to see cops on your rearview mirrors!

Since the Charger is the last RWD cop car on sale in Canada, it has become a popular choice among law enforcement departments. Lots of changes are necessary to transform a regular Charger into a Pursuit vehicle:

  • choice of V6 (3.6 litres with 292 horsepower) or Hemi V8 (5.7 litres, 370 horsepower) engine
  • optional AWD for the V8 models
  • unique steering wheel, with fully customizable toggle switch
  • 14.5 inch disc brakes up front and 13.8 inch disc brakes at the rear for solid braking
  • shifter lever relocated to the steering column
  • modified front seats to accommodate officers' utility belts
  • heavy-duty suspension
  • electrical system ready to receive various auxiliary equipment

Police forces can also order bulletproof front doors, giving them safe cover in a firefight.

And if you ever think about trying to outrun this police vehicle, remember this: the Hemi-equipped Dodge Charger can go from 0-100 in less than 6 seconds, and it ran the Michigan State Police vehicle evaluation course faster than anything ever has before.

So if you see these new headlights in your mirrors, save yourself some trouble, and just pull over!
