BMW Show us the M4 Convertible in New York

BMW just released pictures and information about the M4 convertible, prior to the official launch in New York.

Those of you who want all the performance and handling of a BMW sports car, while also being able to feel the wind in your hair will be glad to learn that the latest M convertible car will arrive on our coasts before summer 2014.

Performance and equipment-wise, the new car will be pretty much identical to the coupe version.

The M4 is powered by a 3 liter turbo engine outputting 425 HP, coupled with either a seven-speed DCT or a 6-speed manual. 0-100 is dispatched in around 4 seconds, depending on your transmission choice, and the car is limited to 250 km/h. Fast enough for a convertible! Standard equipment features include an active diff, M compound brakes and electric power steering. You can of course add some tasty (and pricey) options, like a 3-mode (comfort, sport and sport+) adaptive suspension and carbon-ceramic brakes.

The biggest difference from the coupe is the top, obviously. It’s a hardtop only, and can retract itself in 20 seconds.

There are no prices announced yet, but since the coupe starts at 65,125$ US, it is logical to expect a few thousand dollars premium for the convertible.
