BMW Prices the New M3/M4

Some of you were probably closely following the flow of information coming out of BMW regarding the new M3/M4. You dreamed at night of owning one, and you are probably tying your shoes right now, preparing a full-speed sprint to the nearest dealership to put a deposit on BMW’s latest hot rod. Well, I have good news for you… or bad news, depending on the depth or your pockets. The German automaker just announced the North-American pricing for their 431 HP turbo six-cylinder rockets.

The new BMW M4 (formerly known as the M3 Coupe) will start at $65,125 US for a manual version. This is $2,800 more than the outgoing model’s price, for those of you counting. After that, you can go crazy with the option list:

- Driver Assistance Package, including lateral cameras, autonomous braking, blind spot sonar sensors, and lane departure warning: $1,900 US

- Executive Package, including a backup camera, head-up display, heated rear-seats, parking sensors, heated steering wheel, headlight washers and satellite radio: $4,300 US

- Adaptive M suspension: $1,000 US

- 19 inch wheels: $1,200 US

- DSG transmission: $2,900 US

And, if you want to have absolutely EVERY available option, BMW will happily sell you an $8,150 US carbon ceramic brake kit…

The M3 (which was previously the M3 sedan) will start at $62,925 US, a $5,320 US premium over the last version. You can spec it with pretty much the same options as the M4.

But, in a thoughtful gesture, BMW is offering its customers a choice between the carbon roof and the sunroof, at no extra charge…
