Kia Soul EV to Start Production Soon

Kia recently unveiled the production model of the new Soul EV at the Chicago Auto Show last month. We’ve since learned that production will begin in South Korea next month and remain exclusive to the South Korean market initially. For the 2016 model year the Soul EV will be sold in Europe and select areas of the United States.

The Soul EV features projector beam headlights, LED position lights, LED taillights and 16-inch alloy wheels.

The major aspect of the Soul EV is, of course, its electric motor. The setup produces 109 horsepower and 210 lb-ft of torque, all connected to a 27 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery. Driving range is estimated at 200 kilometers.

Kia's goal is to sell 5,000 units of the Soul EV which is expected to cost around $40,000.
