Volkswagen Beetle Dune Concept

The German manufacturer came to Detroit with this interesting Beetle Dune Concept that seems to want to be an SUV. Engineers made significant changes in the popular Beetle in order to give it a more rugged look and feel.

Among these include:

- More generous ground clearance;
- Protective aluminum plates under the vehicle;
- 19-inch wheels;
- Half-moon, embedded headlights;
- A pair of Volkswagen-branded skis.

Beetle Dune Concept is equipped with a four-cylinder 2.0-liter TSI engine that develops 210 horsepower.
