Mitsubishi, Three new Surprising Concepts

The GC-PHEV is the more imposing of the trio. It benefits from a plug-in hybrid drivetrain, built around a supercharged 3.0 litre V6. An electric motor and 8-speed automatic transmission complete the powertrain.  It is a rugged off-roader able to surmount the worst obstacles.

Next concept is the XR-PHEV, a compact-sized front-wheel drive crossover that also inherits plug-in hybrid technology, but built around a turbocharged 1.1 litre 4-cylinder with direct injection.

Finally, the AR concept takes the shape of small SUV that has all the attributes to challenge the popular Nissan Juke. It shares the powertrain of the XR-PHEV concept, except for the plug-in capacity.

These three vehicles will eventually serve as a basis for the development of production models.
