The South Korean manufacturer will replace the cigarette lighter with a USB plug on its future models sold in Japan.

The decision came following a study which showed that 84% of people no longer use the lighter, and 92% of them prefer to have a USB input instead.

It’s a first that could encourage more manufacturers to do the same, if it winds up paying off. After all, people smoke less and they use more and more new mobile technologies nowadays.
