BMW X5 eDrive: Production Slated for 2015

The Bavarian manufacturer recently unveiled its X5 eDrive rechargeable hybrid model at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt. Yesterday we learned that the vehicle will indeed be produced albeit in very limited numbers.

This rechargeable hybrid includes a 245 horsepower four-cylinder 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo engine, coupled with a 95 horsepower electric motor, which draws its energy via a lithium-ion battery under the floor.

The BMW X5 eDrive goes from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 7 seconds, and can travel up to 30 kilometers in all-electric mode.

According to the manufacturer, it has an excellent fuel consumption estimated at only 3.8 L/100 km.
