Mercedes GLA Revealed

After someone leaked images of the production version of the all new Mercedes GLA crossover last night which were posted on Jalopnik, Mercedes has gone ahead and released their own official images.

The new GLA is a crossover based on the CLA compact sedan, also recently released. Contrary to the Jalopnik report, however, it appears to be too small to target the BMW X3 and more resembles the X1 or Audi Q3.

Buyers will have the choice of gasoline and diesel four-cylinder powerplants with between 136 and 211 horsepower and 258 ft-lbs of torque.

The Mercedes GLA will come with an updated 4MATIC all-wheel drive system with torque distribution capability. It will also have the ability to control the vehicle’s descent down an incline automatically.

AMG will likely have their hand in an upcoming model with a rumored 360 hp 2.0L motor.

Attendees of the Frankfurt Motor Show will be able to see the new car first hand.
