Vaughn Gittin Jr. Brings 1969 Musclecar to Drifting's World Stage

If you’re even a passing fan of drifting; that automotive sport than entails copious amounts of smoke and tire sponsorship, then you’ve undoubtedly heard of Vaughn Gittin Jr. A champion in every sense of the world, the young man has seemingly won just about every title that can be bestowed upon a drift competitor, and has even done it from behind the steering wheel of an unlikely vehicle: a new Mustang.

To commemorate his success, Vaughn has built an homage of sorts that combines his love of America’s ponycar with his love of the highly technical sport of drifting: this awesome 1969 Mustang. A one-of-a-kind, fully-functional Street/Drift machine, the car balances 5.0 liters of tire-shredding, Boss 302-sourced American horsepower with vintage American and drift-culture inspired design influences. Vaughn has incorporated state-of-the-art technology while retaining a nostalgic feel in his vision for the '69 Mustang's timeless body that’s actually a Dynacorn reproduvtion. Not surprisingly, the car, known as the RTR-X, is NOT a trailer queen, having been designed and built from the ground up to be driven hard and, while Vaughn will be the only one thrashing it in real life, the entire world will soon be able to enjoy driving the RTR-X virtually in upcoming Need for Speed video game releases.
