Aston Martin SUV?

It’s easy to forget that although a relatively popular automaker in their own right, Aston Martin is actually the owner of another brand: Lagona. A storied brand with a spotty history, Aston has used the Lagonda badge in the past to create a variety of vehicles, including Aston’s first four-door sedan. However, as of late, the Lagonda name has been best associated with a crossover prototype shown by Aston two years ago. Universally panned, critics pondered why Aston would opt to create such a vehicle, and the big, ugly concept faded into obscurity.

But according to recent rumours, the Lagonda concept of 2008 may rise again in the form of an upcoming Aston SUV. Taking a card from Porsche’s deck, Aston would obviously love to see a comparable gain in sales, but don’t expect to see them populating the local country club parking lot. Critics agree that such a vehicle would dramatically outstrip the almost affordable Cayenne’s price point, with some estimates placing the price tag upwards of $400,000. But hey, it worked for Porsche, and now it might work for Aston Martin.
