After graduating from high school with respectable grades in both English and Mechanics, I begged and pleaded my way into an entry level position at RPM Motoring Monthly, volunteering to sweep floors and take out the garbage in exchange for the opportunity to learn to automotive publishing industry. Nine years, hundreds of press cars, and dozens of junkets later, I'm still learning the ropes in this rapidly changing industry.

With my own vehicles typically being of the old and British variety, I always find myself drawn towards cars and trucks that put enjoyment back into driving, rather than those that strive to eliminate the driver from the equation in the pursuit of higher speeds and better lap times; I'd rather drive an old XK120 slowly than a brand new 911 quickly. But, thanks to this most excellent of careers, I don't have to make that choice!

  3. Test Drives 2013 Ford Flex proves flexible

When the Flex first broke on to the scene in 2008, I recall sitting at the press junket in Santa Monica and thinking to myself that although the vehicle may have made all the sense in the world, I just couldn't come to terms with the name. Billed (at least … Full story

  4. Test Drives 2012 Chrysler 300 S: Chrysler builds a contender

In 2004, then-DaimlerChrysler found themselves on some seriously infirm footing. With a stale lineup of tepid automobiles that ranged from the awful PT Cruiser to the languid rental special Sebring, Chrysler once again found themselves saddled with a lineup bereft of competitive vehicles, and was instead a brand buoyed aloft … Full story

  5. Test Drives 2012 Ram 2500 Laramie Longhorn: Alberta, your truck has arrived.

Few markets are quite as strange as that of the heavy duty pickup truck. Occupied in equal proportion out here in BC by those that would drive their truck with grease-laden hands from job site to job site where it'd be beaten upon by heavy loads and wayward tools, and … Full story
