Range Rover Evoque to Make First Public Appearance

Although already having broken cover at an invitation-only event at Land Rover’s traditional home in England, the smallest and most efficient Range Rover ever looks to be making its general public debut at the upcoming Paris show. Borrowing heavily from Land Rover’s heritage of all-weather capability as well as Jaguar’s sporting lineage, the new Evoque will be available in three different and distinct models:

Pure – combining the stunning concept-car exterior with stylish, clean interiors in neutral colors to highlight the pure, simple forms of the cabin architecture. Soft-touch, wrapped materials on the major surfaces contrast with the real-metal brushed aluminum trim.

Prestige – ultimate Range Rover luxury, combining a bespoke exterior with unique 19-inch wheels and sparkling metallic details, an optional 20-inch wheel, with an indulgent interior which is almost entirely leather wrapped. Luxurious duo-tone color schemes, with premium leather, twin-needle stitching and real wood and metal finishes.

Dynamic – bold exterior with 19- or 20-inch wheels and unique bumpers, sills, grille and tailpipes for a more assertive, confident stance. A premium sports interior with perforated leather seats and unique sports detailing are included. Contrasting roof and spoiler color are available as a personalization option.

With a long feature list including a sound-deadening, laminated and heated windscreen, a Haldex all-wheel drive system using the brand’s trademark Terrain Response System, and MagneRide continuously variable dampers, the Evoque should help move the successful brand further engage buyers that might shy away from the traditionally large, V8-powered Range Rover lineup. According to Dr. Ralph Speth, CEO of Jaguar Land Rover, “The Range Rover Evoque helps to define a new segment for premium compact SUVs which are more sporting and stylish. It makes a strong statement about the future direction of the Range Rover brand, and will have a powerful emotional appeal to a very broad range of premium car buyers.”
