One-millionth Porsche 911 produced

The Zuffenhausen plant in Germany built the one-millionth unit of the Porsche 911. Beloved icon of sports-car lovers worldwide, performance symbol of excellence, the 911 is without a doubt one of the most admired cars on the planet.

Since the event needed to be celebrated in big fashion, the one-millionth Porsche 911 Carrera S was painted Irish Green, in addition to featuring some exclusive trimmings reminiscent of the 1963 original.

Before taking its place at the Porsche Museum, the 911 will embark on a world tour, visiting China, United States, Scotland and many more countries. In 2016 alone, 32,365 units of the Porsche 911 found homes around the globe.

Never straying too far away from the original 911 concept, Porsche constantly seeked to improve its technology, its refinement and its perfection. Its level of quality remains legendary; in fact, more than 70% of all 911s built up until now are still on road!

Porsche AG CEO Wolfgang Porsche, collaborator on the development of the 911 since day one, stated that “54 years ago, I was able to take my first trips over the Grossglockner High Alpine Road with my father. The feeling of being in a 911 is just as enjoyable now as it was then. That’s because the 911 has ensured that the core values of our brand are as visionary today as they were in the first Porsche 356/1 from 1948.”

Long live the Porsche 911!
