New Models to See at the 2017 Montreal Auto Show

The Montreal International Auto Show opens its doors to the public today, and presents a wide range of new models that will soon be on sale in Canada. Here’s a breakdown of what can be admired at the show this year.

Let’s start with the performance and luxury vehicles with the Mercedes-AMG C 63 S Cabriolet, the Audi A5 in Coupe, four-door Sportback and Cabriolet forms, the Porsche Panamera, the Genesis G80 Sport, the Rolls-Royce Ghost and Wraith Black Badge, the Karma Revero, the Aston Martin DB11, the BMW i8 Protonic Red, the Lexus LC 500h as well as the Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport, the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and the Chevrolet Camaro 1LE. Let’s not forget the Performance Zone and its collection of modified vehicles—some pretty funky stuff here.

SUV lovers will be pleased to see the new generation of the Audi Q5, the Land Rover Discovery, the Bentley Bentayga, the Maserati Levante, the Volkswagen Atlas as well as the Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe and Mercedes-Benz G 550 4x4 Squared. Some automakers still believe in the station wagon, and the Volvo V90 and V90 Cross Country are on display in Montreal, while FCA’s plug-in minivan, the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, is also present and accounted for.

In the realm of more rational and affordable vehicles, we can sink our teeth into the completely redesigned Kia Rio, the Kia Niro hybrid, the diesel-powered Chevrolet Cruze, the Hyundai Ioniq, the Toyota Prius Prime, the Toyota C-HR, the Ford EcoSport, the Chevrolet Equinox, the MINI Countryman, the Nissan Qashqai and the Nissan Sentra NISMO, the refreshed Buick Encore, the new Jeep Compass, the Hyundai Elantra Sport as well as the fully electric Volkswagen e-Golf.

And to represent the cars of tomorrow, we can check out a bunch of concepts that stand out by their sheer beauty or their utter functionality. We find the Subaru Crosstrek Concept, the Buick Avista Concept, the Toyota FCV Plus and the Hyundai RN30 Concept, among others. In addition, Toyota presents a solution for mobility in congested urban areas with the miniscule Toyota COMS.

Finally, a tour of the vendor stands is a must, including a stop at The Car Guide, / le Guide de l’auto’s kiosk. You can purchase the Guide de l’auto 2017 and order previous editions of the annual buyer’s guide, and can even meet up with The Car Guide’s team of journalists.

The Montreal Auto Show is open to the public from January 20 to 29 at the Palais des Congrès. For more information, visit their website at www.montrealautoshow.com.
