Toyota and Mazda Might Collaborate on Connected and Electric Vehicles

According to Automotive News, Toyota and Mazda could take their partnership to another level.
The manufacturers were already working on some projects together, most notably the creation of the Yaris Sedan, based on the Mazda2.
Mazda’s Vice-President, Akira Marumoto, announced that they were discussing with their partner.
According to rumours, Toyota and Mazda would be working on electric cars and drivetrains in addition to connected technologies. Automotive News says that the partnership could involve up to ten different areas of expertise.
This alliance isn’t the first among Japanese automakers: we know Nissan recently acquired a 34% stake in Mitsubishi, and Toyota now owns Daihatsu Motor Co.
