Ram RTX Concept: the Off-road Hellcat

During yesterday's Paris Auto Show media day, FCA's truck division RAM was feeling left out. They weren't at the auto show and nobody was talking at them.

To bring back a little media attention on North America, they decided to show off a very unique truck. Based on a Ram 1500 Rebel, the TRX Concept visually differs from 37-inch tires, an overall width increased by six inches and red accenting here and there. The suspension has been reworked and now offers 33 centimetres of travel.

For more grunt, the RTX traded the Rebel's 5.7-litre V8 for a supercharged 6.2-litre powerplant (yes, very reminescent of a Hellcat!) which generates 575 horsepower. According to the manufacturer, that's enough to hit 160 km/h... off road.

For now, Ram doesn't plan on producing this truck; if they did though, it would be an amazing competitor for the Ford F-150 Raptor...right?
