A 383-km range for the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV

Chevy has just announced the driving range of its fully electric car, the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt. The manufacturer had initially promised a range of 320 kilometres, but according to Chevrolet, the number is now set at 383 km on a full charge.

The car was unveiled earlier this year during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. According to Alan Batey, General Motors executive vice president and president, North America, buyers won’t be able to find better value in the EV market, as the Bolt will combine a dynamic drive, generous interior space and unmatched range at its projected price point. The Bolt will indeed shake things up in its segment and force the competition to adjust.

The 2017 Chevrolet Bolt is the company’s second fully electric vehicle after the Saturn EV1 that briefly appeared in the 90s, while the Chevrolet Volt functions more like a plug-in hybrid. The Bolt will be equipped with a 60-kWh battery pack, and a full charge on a residential 240-volt outlet will take approximately nine hours.

The 2017 Chevrolet Bolt will be on sale later this year. Pricing will be announced closer to launch.
