End of the Line for the BMW Z4?

According to Bimmer Today, BMW might have quietly pulled the plug on their Z4 roadster.

The website states that on August 22nd, a Z4 painted in Valencia Orange rolled off the assembly line in Regensburg. Behind it however, there weren’t any other Z4s; this was the last of the Bavarian roadster.

BMW won’t abandon the segment, however. According to the most recent information available, the alliance between Toyota and BMW is still going strong. If everything goes well, two models should come out of this: the Toyota version should be called Supra, while its Germanic counterpart should bear the name Z5. If we are to believe the latest rumours, the BMW could even be fitted with a hybrid powertrain and an all-wheel drive layout.

In the meantime, the BMW Z4 isn’t a pushover: it comes standard with a peppy 2.0-litre engine developing 241 horsepower, while an inline-six is available, too. Developing between 300 and 335 horsepower, they should be fast enough for most drivers.

Starting at $56,200, the BMW Z4 will still be available for a few months in dealerships. If you want one, now is the time.
