Maserati calls Levante 'the Maserati of SUVs'
"The Maserati of SUVs" will soon be here, representing "the optimum blend" of design, exclusivity and performance in the sport utility segment, according to the Italian automaker.
Like the cars for which the brand is best known, the all-new Levante's aesthetics are first and foremost, with a design that is unmistakably Maserati.
With the signature concave grille and the trio of side vents on each fender, Maserati is clearly selling a familial look from the outset.
And at 197 inches long, nearly six inches long than the Porsche Cayenne, its presence on the road will surely be known.
Just because it's a sport utility doesn't mean it has to drive like one, according to Maserati, with the brand boasting of the Levante's GT-like on-road dynamics while noting that it is "fully capable off-road," with a new torque-vectoring system, air suspension and Maserati's Q4 all-wheel drive system aiding in both scenarios.
North American versions will come powered by two versions of a Ferrari-made twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6—the first making 350 horsepower and 369 lb.-ft. of torque, and the latter 430 horsepower and 428 lb.-ft. of torque.
