Mopar ’16 Ram Rebel Revealed

Every year since 2010, FCA’s performance-parts division Mopar has conjured up a limited-edition vehicle that features a unique appearance package. This year marks the first time Mopar chooses a truck on which they work their magic.

The Mopar ’16 Ram Rebel is obviously based on the 1500-series full-size pickup, and includes four-wheel drive as well as a Crew Cab configuration. Two paint colours will be offered, two-tone Flame Red and Brilliant Black or monotone Brilliant Black.

The package also includes an aluminum hood with matte black hood stripes, more prominent fender flares as well as Mopar blue and black striping on the sides and tailgate. The truck also includes a black front bumper skid plate, satin black 17-inch alloys and a numbered plaque on the cockpit glove box.

As with the standard Ram Rebel, the Mopar ’16 gets a 395-hp, 5.7-litre HEMI V8 paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, skid plates, black side steps, a spray-on bedliner and a foldable tonneau cover.

Only 500 units of the Mopar ’16 Ram Rebel will be produced, 100 of which will be sold in Canada this summer at a starting price of $62,760 before freight and delivery charges.

The Mopar ’16 Ram Rebel follows the Mopar ’10 Challenger, Mopar ’11 Charger, Mopar ’12 Chrysler 300, Mopar ’13 Dart, Mopar ’14 Challenger and Mopar ’15 Charger R/T.
