2016 Volkswagen Beetle Classic Convertible Now On Sale In Canada

After the launch of the 2015 Volkswagen Beetle Classic coupe last year, it’s the convertible’s turn to get dressed up in retro clothes.

The Beetle Classic Convertible gets checkered, two-tone cloth and leatherette upholstery with colour-matched dash and door sill trim, while a leather-wrapped, multifunction steering wheel includes switchgear to control the new MIB II touchscreen infotainment system that will equip many new 2016 Volkswagen models. The system features Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink smartphone integration in addition to a USB port.

On the outside, the drop-top Beetle Classic is distinguished by its 17-inch “Heritage” alloy wheels, a power-folding top dyed in Sioux Brown colour as well as a choice of four paint jobs, including white, black and two shades of silver.

Nothing’s retro under the hood, as the 2016 Volkswagen Beetle Classic Convertible is equipped with a turbocharged, 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine that develops 170 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque as well as a six-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode.

The 2016 Beetle Classic Convertible is priced at $28,550 before freight and delivery charges. Other versions of the drop-top Beetle include the Trendline+, the Comfortline and the Sportline, which range in price from $27K to $40K.
