Alfa Romeo Opens Its Museum

If you are thinking about planning a trip to Italy (and honestly, why wouldn’t you?), you should go through the town of Arese, where Italian manufacturer Alfa Romeo just opened its new historical museum.

Named La Macchina del tempo (the time machine, in Italian), this exposition center is split into 3 sections: Timeline, Beauty and Speed. Each of them tells a part of the Alfa Romeo story; Timeline shows the evolution of the brand through 19 models, Beauty explains the various artistic currents used in the last 105 years, and Speed shows some of the brand’s most victorious racecars. There is then a trip through the Tempio delle vittorie, which showcases some of Alfa Romeo’s iconic races.

Among the racecars shown there, you can see the first car to wear the Alfa badge –the 24 HP– , the 6C 1750 that was driven by Tazio Nuvolari and the the Alfetta 59 that was driven by Juan Manuel Fangio in the 1950 Formula 1 season.

So why should you visit the museum? Well, a refresher course in the history of Alfa Romeo might not be a bad idea, since the brand is coming back to our shores…
