Porsche's 918 Spyder Getting Recalled... Again

The fastest of all Porsches, the 918 Spyder, has just been recalled; according to investigations by the manufacturer, a piece of carbon fibre could chafe the engine loom, which could eventually cause a loss of power or even a fire.

Hurry up and warn every 918 owner you know.

We would like to remind them that this is the third recall so far for their supercar. One targeted some elements of the suspension and only affected 5 units. This one however is more widespread; 223 affected vehicles in the US, 76 in Germany and 23 in Sweden will have to be repaired.

Said repair is relatively simple. You just have to bring your 918 Spyder to a dealership and the mechanics will ‘’strategically move’’ the part of the loom that may be in contact with the bodywork (meaning they will probably just pry it loose and reattach it a few centimetres away). The whole operation should only take half a day.
