Volkswagen Golf Variant Biturbo Edition : Student's Dream

Volkswagen unveiled quite a few unique vehicles at Wörthersee, and one of them is a very special project dubbed the Golf Variant Biturbo Edition.

This car has been built by a team of young apprentices from Zwickau. Based on the Golf wagon (called the Variant in Europe), the car receives a 4MOTION AWD system and a DSG gearbox. The engine of choice is a 2-litre diesel that was pilfered from a Euro-spec Passat. As the name implies, two turbochargers are fitted to this mill, helping it crank out 240 horsepower and 368 pound-feet of torque.

The styling is also unique: the body is painted Alor Blue, and black stripes complement it. Inside, we find black leather seats with blue bolsters. If the passengers look upward, they will see that the headliner has been airbrushed with a map of Saxony (a region of Germany) and VW’s production sites in Chemitz, Dresden and Zwickau have been highlighted.

Once again, sadly this car will not be mass-produced.
