Amazon Will Deliver Directly To Your Audi

If you buy things off the Internet, you probably know what Amazon is: the popular online service can now deliver pretty much anything to your doorstep. Whether it’s a book, a CD, a new laptop or even a set of tires, you only need to click on a few buttons (and enter a valid credit card number) to start the highly-efficient delivery process.

Said system isn’t exactly perfect, however; when the time comes to actually get the item in your hands, you have to be home for a 4-hour period, which isn’t exactly ideal. If you are not available, the delivery service will leave a note in your letterbox, and you have to go to the postal service to get your package.

Amazon and Audi are currently working on a new delivery option which would have your order placed directly in the trunk of your car.

The service is currently being tested in Munich, and the procedure is simple: on the morning when your delivery is due, you will receive an e-mail asking you roughly where the car will be (it will then be accurately located via GPS). Then, the mailman will receive a one-time code to unlock your trunk. Once the delivery is completed, you will receive a confirmation e-mail.

What do you think of this technology? Are you comfortable with letting a stranger root through your trunk?
