A New Chevy Spark For 2016

After teasing us with a dark shot of the new Chevrolet Spark, the manufacturer finally unveiled the car at the 2015 New York Auto Show. The small car competes against the Smart Fortwo, the Fiat 500, the Mitsubishi Mirage and the Nissan Micra.

Style-wise, the car adopts new lines which are reminiscent of the Impala and the all-new Malibu. It has lost its elongated headlights, and the rear is now better integrated with the hatch and fenders.

Under the hood of the 2016 Spark we find a 1.4-litre Ecotec four-cylinder. This engine is 0.2 litres larger than the one found in the current Spark, and it shows; the vehicle now boasts 98 horsepower.

To harness all that power, we will be able to choose between a 5-speed manual and a CVT gearbox; with the latter, GM hopes that its Spark will be able to sip as few as 5.9 litres of fuel per 100 km.

The 2016 Chevrolet Spark will be available before the end of the year.
