Jeep's Concept For The 2015 Easter Jeep Safari

Ever heard of the Easter Jeep Safari? It’s the biggest Jeep event, considered the mecca for all jeep aficionados. It is actually in its 49th edition and is held in Utah, near the town of Moab.

Each year, the brand gives its fans a nice treat by bringing a few concepts prepared for the occasion. However, these are not just pretty decorations; these trucks will be getting dusty in the trails and rocks of the event, making sure they can earn their Trail Rated badge.

For the 2015 edition, Jeep chose to bring seven different vehicles, which we can see here. The selection is vast: from the little Jeep Renegade Trailhawk with a simple roof rack to the Wrangler Rock Responder built to help stranded vehicles with its array of tools, winches and ramps, the Cherokee Canyon Trail (which is half-an-inch higher than the stock vehicle because of its tires) equipped with an underbelly skid plate to the Grand Cherokee Overlander (with a diesel engine and a tent on top of it), there is something for everyone here.

But the stars of the event are the Wranglers, and three models will be showcased at Moab: First of all, the beige four-door model is named Africa and receives a lift kit, off-road tires, heavy-duty differential and a 2.8-litre diesel engine.

The Jeep Staff Car is an homage to the father of the Wrangler, the small vehicle that was used to liberate Europe during WWII. With its lack of side pillars, steel wheels, stretched canvas top and simple beam bumpers, we immediately see the family lineage.

But the best of them has to be the Jeep Chief: based on the platform of the Wrangler, the Chief receives a whole front end inspired by the the 70’s Cherokee. It also receives a baby blue paint job, huge tires and a removable top.
