We Will See The 2016 Kia Optima In New York

A few weeks ago, Kia surprised us with the SPORTSPACE concept, a sleek-looking station wagon that was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show. While the car seduced us, we also expected it to be a prequel to the upcoming Kia Optima, the brand’s midsize sedan.

We guessed right; on April 1st (the New York Auto Show media day), we will discover the 2016 Kia Optima.

For now, we have been treated to some of the sketches used by the stylists to create the Optima. Of course, the production version won’t be as edgy, but the angular lines, sloped roof, large fenders and low front bumpers should remain on the real sedan. The rear is also new, with an integrated wing and sleek lights.

The final version will be fully unveiled on April 1st; more information, like pricing and engine choice, has yet to be announced.

And we can’t wait to see if Kia will launch a station wagon version.
